I stressed that the state government fully recognises and respects the people's right to freedom of expression. However, such expression of opinion must be within the framework of the law. It is important to maintain order and peace, especially in the face of potential unrest. I called on civil society organisations to play their part to ensure that all protests are peaceful and orderly.
